Have Your Say on Engagement Timeframes

Engagement Institute is inviting practitioners to share their feedback on its new paper, Time Well Spent: Exploring the Impact of Engagement Timeframes.

The paper explores how timeframes are set, perceived and applied in engagement practice — and how they can better support meaningful participation and decision-making.

Timeframes shape the quality of engagement. They influence who can participate, how deeply communities can consider information, how practitioners design processes, and how decision-makers understand community input.

When timeframes are too short, engagement can become rushed, reactive or inaccessible. When they are designed well, they can support stronger participation, better decisions and greater trust in the process.

Why Your Feedback Matters

This practitioner feedback survey will help Engagement Institute better understand how engagement timeframes are experienced across different sectors, project types and communities.

Your input will help inform the development of future policy on engagement timeframes, designed to support practitioners, decision-makers and communities.

We are particularly interested in hearing from engagement professionals about what works, what gets in the way, and what guidance would help improve practice.
