Engagement Institute Supporting Social Media for Gov 2026

Government engagement teams are under pressure to prove real dialogue, not just louder broadcasts. The Social Media for Gov Summit runs its 21st edition on 10-12 November 2026 at the Rendezvous Hotel, Melbourne.

It brings together 200+ attendees and 30+ public sector communications and engagement leaders across 2 days of sessions plus optional workshops. Michele Barry, Board Chair of the Engagement Institute, chairs sessions across the program and helped shape it as part of the event’s advisory board.

Sessions include humanising government through people-led storytelling, moving beyond one-size-fits-all content strategies, and turning constraint into capability for small engagement teams. A dedicated panel covers what high-performing communication and engagement teams do differently under pressure.
