David Wilson

I am an experienced and professional individual with broad experience across the public and private sector, most recently working as Head of Community Engagement at EnergyAustralia. Prior to this, I was Government and Stakeholder Lead (NSW) at EnergyAustralia and Associate Director, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement at a leading independent consultancy firm.

I am a strategic thinker, a proven leader, and have a strong track record of delivery in policy and infrastructure. I am known as an excellent stakeholder and interface manager with a strong background in engagement, policy advice, and strategic planning. I am a people person who genuinely enjoys working with team members and colleagues to improve their skills and deliver improved outcomes as a result.

I have a strong understanding of government, its processes, and political influences on project delivery, especially in communications and engagement. I possess highly developed written and oral communication skills and have demonstrated ability to communicate information coherently and concisely to audiences with a range of backgrounds and cultures.

I have previously spoken at community engagement conferences on the absence of rationality in community engagement, the need for greater energy literacy education as part of our engagement approach, and the challenges of early engagement in the hyper-commercial age of project development.
