Guilford Laneway – Safer Cities: Her Way Cumberland

Parts of Cumberland had been facing decline, with many community members – particularly women and girls – feeling unsafe in public spaces and choosing longer routes to avoid certain areas.
In response, Cumberland City Council (Council) partnered with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) on Guildford Laneway project (the project) as part of the Safer Cities: Her Way program. Backed by $1 million in funding, the project aimed to improve safety, accessibility, and mobility for women and girls across public spaces in Guildford.
