Engagement professionals are working in an environment where trust in institutions, expectations for participation and the ways communities contribute to decisions continue to evolve. International conversations about how governments involve citizens in decision-making can offer useful perspectives for practice here in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

The next meeting of the OECD Innovative Citizen Participation Network (ICPN) will take place alongside the OECD Global Forum on Building Trust & Reinforcing Democracy this October.

For engagement professionals, the meeting is an opportunity to connect with a broader global conversation about community engagement, trust and democratic decision-making, and consider what emerging approaches could mean for community and stakeholder engagement closer to home.

Date: Tuesday, 13 October 2026
Time: 12:30–1:30pm CEST
Location: OECD Conference Centre, Paris and online

The meeting will be delivered in a hybrid format, making it accessible to practitioners joining virtually as well as those attending in Paris.

Further information, including the meeting agenda and registration details for both in-person and virtual participation, will be released in the coming months.
