New Program Supports More Women into Community Engagement Careers

A new initiative from Community Power Agency is creating pathways for more women to build careers in community engagement, renewable energy and the clean energy transition.

The Careers for Women in Community Engagement program offers participants the opportunity to develop practical skills, build industry connections and gain recognised training. As part of the program, participants will receive Community Power Agency’s university-accredited Socially Responsible Renewable Energy Development (SRRED) short course, along with the Engagement Institute’s Essentials of Engagement course for those starting their careers in engagement.

The initiative reflects the growing demand for skilled engagement professionals as Australia accelerates the transition to renewable energy. Community engagement is increasingly recognised as a critical capability in delivering projects that build trust, strengthen relationships and support better outcomes for communities.

At the Engagement Institute, we’re pleased to see Essentials of Engagement included as part of this important initiative. As the foundational course in our Certificate of Engagement, Essentials equips participants with the practical frameworks, tools and confidence to begin their journey in community and stakeholder engagement.
