Have Your Say: Mid-Term Review of Australia’s National Road Safety Strategy

The Australian Government is inviting public feedback as part of the mid-term review of the National Road Safety Strategy 2021–30. The independent review will assess what’s working, where the gaps are, and help shape priorities for the next National Road Safety Action Plan. Submissions close 11:59pm AEDT, 25 November 2025.

What’s Being Reviewed

• The National Road Safety Strategy 2021–30 (NRSS), Australia’s 10-year framework to reduce road trauma and move toward Vision Zero. The review looks at progress against current initiatives and where effort should shift for the second half of the decade.

Who Can Contribute

• Everyone — industry stakeholders, local government, community organisations, practitioners, and members of the public. The department explicitly invites input to assess effectiveness, identify emerging challenges, and surface practical recommendations.

How To Participate

• Complete the online survey on the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts website. Feedback provided through the survey will inform the review and the development of the next Action Plan. (Closes 25 November 2025, 11:59pm AEDT.)

Why It Matters (for engagement professionals)

• The review is a live opportunity to highlight community insights, local risk profiles, and what good engagement looks like in road safety—especially around behaviour change, place-based safety, rural and regional contexts, and safe system trade-offs. The NRSS is the national reference point for policy and funding focus; strong submissions can influence priorities, measures and resourcing for the next phase.
