EngageMark: Your Guide to Confident, Capable Engagement

The Engagement Institute is proud to introduce EngageMark — Australasia’s first certification and maturity assessment tool for the engagement sector, developed by the sector to meet contemporary engagement standards.

EngageMark helps organisations benchmark their engagement capability, identify gaps, and gain independent recognition for best practice. Whether you’re just starting out or leading complex work, EngageMark offers a clear, structured path to stronger, more confident engagement.

Because engagement done well doesn’t just support decisions — it strengthens them.

Why EngageMark Matters

With public expectations rising and scrutiny of engagement practices growing, organisations need more than good intentions — they need a credible way to show they do engagement well. EngageMark delivers on that need.

When you go through EngageMark, you:

  • Reduce risk by uncovering blind spots in your systems or practice.
  • Strengthen procurement and funding outcomes by proving credible engagement capability in tenders and partnerships.
  • Ensure best practice by aligning your team to the nine key elements of engagement maturity: Culture, Governance, Leadership, Capability, Resourcing, Practice, Relationships, Impact, First Nations.
  • Demonstrate leadership and build public trust, signalling that engagement is embedded — not an afterthought.

How the Journey Works

EngageMark is an online, three-level process designed for organisations at any stage of maturity.

  • Level 1 – Free Quiz: Explore two elements (Culture & Governance) in just a few minutes. No evidence required.
  • Level 2 – Organisation Self-Assessment: A guided deep dive into all nine elements, generating a full organisational score and report.
  • Level 3 – Certification: Apply for independent review and upload supporting evidence. An assessment awards Gold, Silver, Bronze or ‘Did Not Meet’ ratings. Results are valid for three years.

Once certified, organisations are listed on a public register of certified engagement organisations, showcasing their achievement and commitment.

Who It’s For

EngageMark is designed for organisations across sectors that engage with stakeholders and communities. Whether you’re in government, infrastructure, energy, planning, environment or health — if you’re making decisions that affect people, EngageMark is a tool for you.

It’s for:

  • Engagement teams who want to build trust, transparency and embed engagement into culture.
  • Procurement or decision-making teams who want confidence in the engagement capability of their partners.

Where to Start

Ready to see where your organisation stands? Begin with the free quiz to get a snapshot across Culture and Governance. No commitment, just insight.

If you’re ready to go deeper — complete the organisation self-assessment, build your roadmap and aim for full certification. Your commitment will show in your systems, your delivery and your reputation.

EngageMark isn’t just another tick box. It’s a practical, credible tool for organisations committed to raising the bar in engagement — consistently, clearly and with purpose.

Explore EngageMark and take your next step toward capability you can proudly demonstrate.
