The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement course supports practitioners to move beyond awareness and into accountable, culturally grounded practice.
Developed by Blak Ignited for Engagement Institute, this course brings Aboriginal-led expertise into a practical learning experience designed to strengthen how you engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Across two half-day sessions, you’ll build the confidence and capability to engage respectfully and effectively — strengthening your approach to relationships, cultural safety and responsibility in practice.
Prerequisite
To attend this course, you must have completed Essentials of Engagement.
This course builds on foundational engagement knowledge and is designed for practitioners ready to deepen their practice.
This is a standalone specialised course and does not attract credit points towards the Certificate of Engagement.

Tammy Baart
Founder of Blak Ignited
Tammy Baart is a proud Dharug woman, systems thinker and founder of Blak Ignited. She works alongside organisations, leaders and communities to move beyond intention and into meaningful, lived change.
Grounded in Indigenous ways of being, thinking and doing, Tammy brings a relational, practical and thoughtful approach to learning. Her work focuses on building Indigenous Cultural Intelligence, strengthening leadership capability, and reshaping systems to be more human, just and connected.
Tammy blends lived experience, Indigenous wisdom, emotional intelligence and systems thinking with practical application, helping participants translate reflection into action. She has developed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement for Engagement Institute, tailoring the course specifically to the context of engagement practitioners.
